GRANTHAM MEDICAL CLINIC - FAQ
Do I need to bring my health card to every visit?
Yes. A valid Ontario health card must be presented each time you visit. If you don’t have one or it’s expired, a visit fee may apply.
Can I just walk in, or do I need an appointment?
We accept both walk-in and booked visits. If you’re seeing a specific doctor or need a routine check-up, an appointment helps avoid long waits. Walk-ins are best for same-day concerns like minor illnesses or injuries.
Due to time constraints, our physicians will assess patients with up to a maximum of two medical concerns in a single visit. We acknowledge that you may have multiple reasons to visit the doctor; however, our physicians will not be able to give each concern the necessary time and attention in a single visit.
What are your hours, and when is the latest I can arrive?
Monday-Friday: 9 am - 6 pm
Saturday: 9 am - 3 pm
Sunday: 10 am - 3 pm
Holidays: 11 am - 4 pm
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before closing to ensure we can register and assess you. Wait times may vary depending on volume.
How long will I have to wait?
Wait times can vary day to day and will depend on how many walk-in patients arrived before you, how many doctors are available, and whether any urgent cases need to be prioritized.
You may also notice some patients being called in ahead of you—these individuals may have pre-booked appointments with their family doctor, rather than being walk-in visits.
We truly appreciate your patience; it’s never easy to wait, and we know your time is valuable. Our physicians work as efficiently as possible while still giving each patient the care and attention they deserve.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Sometimes. Depending on your concern, we may be able to book a phone consultation with one of our doctors. Call us to see if a virtual appointment can be arranged for your visit.
Can I become a patient with one of your family doctors?
Yes. Dr. Chandra is accepting new patients. Please ask our receptionist or click here to book an appointment.
How do specialist referrals, test results, and follow-ups work?
After your visit, please confirm with reception if any specialist referrals or tests were ordered. We can provide a printed copy of referrals or instructions at the desk. If you haven’t heard back within a week, feel free to call us to verify; it ensures nothing slips through the cracks.
Do you offer Pap smears and physical exams?
Yes. The Pap smear clinics run by appointment, and we offer general physicals. Just call to book or inquire at the front desk.
How can I help make my visit run smoothly?
To get the most out of your visit, please share clear details about your symptoms, current health conditions, medications, allergies, immunizations, and any recent exams. Let us know if you’ve seen another provider about the same issue recently. Due to time limits, our doctors typically address up to two concerns per visit to ensure each receives proper attention.
What should I do if my experience isn’t what I expected?
Your comfort and satisfaction are important to us. If you ever feel your visit didn’t meet your expectations—whether due to wait times, communication, or any other concern—please ask to speak with the Office Manager. We take all feedback seriously and want to make sure you feel heard and cared for.
